Staffordshire County Council
Staffordshire County Council, based in the county town of Stafford, will support the research work with applied research. Staffordshire is positioned at the heart of the West Midlands, with a population of just under one million and one thousand square miles.
The County Council and its partners, including national government, spend over £7.5bn of public money in Staffordshire every year. They have a duty to make sure this money is spent as wisely and effectively as possible; whilst ensuring the economy can grow, providing a safe place to work and live and to maintain and improve the condition of physical assets.
The authority is seeking to work with residents, voluntary groups, partners and the private sector to find new and different ways to improve lives through building stronger communities. Our approach is about providing the connections and creating the right conditions for Staffordshire people to flourish and prosper, without state interference.
